There are basically three different options for accessing internet today, i.e., broadband access, Wi-Fi access and Dial up access. But the main problems with broadband access are that it is very costly and it’s not reachable to all the areas. The problem with Wi-Fi access is that hot spots are very tiny, so coverage is sparse. This paper discusses a new technology i.e. WIMAX that will overcome all the limitations of the above techniques. Cable and DSL services can be replaced with WiMAX, providing universal Internet access just about anywhere you go. WiMAX will also be as easily accessible as Wi-Fi -- turning your computer on will automatically connect you to the closest available WiMAX antenna. This project was built in Matlab Simulink and various antenna configurations was designed and then checked for its performance and compared with different MIMO configuration, and hence a conclusion is deduced from the above comparative result and the best antenna configuration is selected
