Experimental Investigation on MRR of Pulse Electrochemical machining (PECM) based on Taguchi Method

P.V.Jadhav, D.S.Bilgi, Sumit Sharan, Rachit Shrivastava

The Electrochemical Machining (ECM) is widely used in machining variety of components used in aerospace, automotive, defense & medical applications. Due to low machining accuracy ECM is yet to be a best alternative process. This paper presents experimental investigation of PECM parameters such as voltage, feed rate, and pulse on time, duty cycle on MRR. Keeping pressure constant, Taguchi‟s orthogonal array L9 has been effectively used to study the effect of independent process parameters. The results show PECM has enhanced MRR. The experimental results were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) method and by plotting various graphs.
